La Route 66 fu una strada usata per la migrazione verso ovest, specialmente durante il dust bowl. Nel 1940, John Steinbeck pubblicò Grapes of Wrath (Furore), che gli valse il premio Pulitzer.
Nel 1946, il pianista jazz Bobby Troup scrisse la sua famosa Get your Kicks On Route 66, dopo aver percorso di persona la highway per andare in California. Egli mostrò la canzone a Nat King Cole che la fece diventare uno dei più grandi singoli della sua carriera. La canzone più tardi divenne un pezzo del repertorio di Chuck Berry e fu incisa da molti altri artisti, inclusi i Rolling Stones e i Depeche Mode.
In alcuni dei miei viaggi negli Stati Uniti per lavoro, mi è capitata più volte di percorrerla, in particolare lunghi tratti in Arizona, California e Illinois. Ho visto panorami incredibili, ho incontrato le più diverse Harley Davidson, ho ascoltato in un locale di Phoenix la famosa canzone cantata e suonata da un bel gruppo Blues, e mi sono pure comprato una fibbia per la cintura con il logo.
Dopo aver pubblicato su Gorgelous in Guitart il pezzo unico Plastiform, splendida Stratocaster illustrata da Pamelina H., le ho scritto proponendo di farmi una Telecaster con un panorama della Route 66. Dopo un andirivieni di fotografie e bozzetti, la chitarra ora è quasi pronta, è stata spedita al tecnico che si occuperà del clearcoat, la verniciatura lucida, e allo specialista degli intarsi sul manico. Dovrebbe essere pronta per Natale. Sicuramente, al primo concerto di BJG (www.bjgmusic.it) la userò per suonare Get Your Kicks On route 66!

The song later became a part of the repertoire of Chuck Berry and was recorded by many other artists, including the Rolling Stones and Depeche Mode.
In some of my trips to the U.S. for work, I have had several occasions , to travel along many of his km, especially in Arizona, California and Illinois. I saw incredible views, I met the most diverse Harley Davidson, I listened in a Phoenix pub the famous song sung and played by a blues band, and I even bought a buckle for the belt with thelogo .
After publishing on Gorgelous, in Guitart magazine, the one of a kind guitar Plastiform , a beautiful Stratocaster illustrated by Pamelina H., I wrote her proposing to make me a Telecaster with a panorama of Route 66. After a back and forth of photographs and sketches, the guitar is now almost ready, was sent to the specialist who will take care of clearcoat, and for the inlays on the handle. Should be ready for Christmas. Surely, the first concert of BJG ( www.bjgmusic.it ) I will use it to play Get Your Kicks On Route 66 !
